Naidu to throw open Rushikonda palace to people!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced that his government would throw open the palatial bungalows built on Rushikonda hills to the common people very soon.

Naidu, in the capacity of the chief minister, came to the Rushikonda palaces for the first time and extensively visited each and every corner of the palaces, along with the ministers, MLAs and other leaders of the NDA.

He enquired about the structures and facilities provided in the palaces.

“We shall bring to light how the previous Jagan Mohan Reddy government had spent lavishly on these palaces. We shall also throw the palaces open for the common people to visit to understand how Jagan had wasted the public money,” he said.

Naidu said never in the history of the state had anybody witnessed a chief minister constructing palaces destroying the environment.

“Nobody had access to these constructions in the past – neither media nor environmentalists. Even I and Pawan Kalyan made an attempt to see these constructions, but we were not given any permissions,” he said.

He said the people had given him the mandate and it was his responsibility to tell the factual position about Rushikonda to the people.

“That is why, we want to allow people to see for themselves what these structure were meant for,” he said.

Naidu wondered whether Jagan had thought he would be the permanent chief minister of the state, looking at the way the palaces were built. He said how anyone could spend Rs 25 lakh on a bath tub and Rs 5 lakh for a commode.

“Perhaps, he considered himself a king or even an emperor to rule the state forever. Nobody would ever imagine how a person could spend public money so lavishly for his luxurious life,” he said.

He said had Jagan spent Rs 500 crore on the irrigation projects in north coastal Andhra, they would have been completed by now.

“The money could have also used to lay roads in the remote areas or in filling up the potholes on the roads all over the state,” he said.
