Naidu to restore Praja Vedika at Undavalli!

Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu, who will be taking the oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth time on June 12, is reported to have directed the authorities to restore Praja Vedika, a building adjacent to his residence in Undavalli.

Praja Vedika, which was used for meeting people and receiving representations during Naidu’s earlier tenure between 2014 and 2019, was demolished by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government within a couple of days of its formation in May 2019.

Interestingly, the rubble of the building remains even after five years of the Jagan government. It has been an eyesore for Naidu whenever he visited his Undavalli residence.

Therefore, he wants to restore the building to bring back the official appearance to his residence.

“If Jagan began his administration with the demolition of Praja Vedika, Naidu wants to begin it by restoring the building,” a source said.

The TDP chief also plans to revive the Anna canteens on a priority basis. These canteens, which provided affordable meals to the poor at just Rs. 5 per plate, were closed down by the Jagan government soon after it came to power.

“These canteens will be restored shortly in all the mandals and various locations in towns,” he said.
