Departed Tollywood superstar Krishna’s brother Ghattamaneni Adiseshagiri Rao is most likely to contest the upcoming assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh on Telugu Desam Party ticket.
According to reports, TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has finalised the candidature of Adiseshagiri Rao for Penamaluru assembly seat, which is being represented by Kolusu Parthasarathy, who defected from YSR Congress party to the TDP recently.
While Parthasarathy has been shifted to Nuzvid assembly constituency, Naidu had earlier retained former MLA Bode Prasad for Penamaluru seat. But now with Adiseshagiri Rao in fray, Prasad’s fate now hangs in balance.
However, Naidu reportedly tried to convince Prasad that there is an advantage in fielding Adiseshagiri Rao, as he is actively involved in coordinating with the fans’ associations of Krishna’s son and popular hero Mahesh Babu.
He is learnt to have assured to take care of Bode Prasad’s future. He might be fielded from some other constituency in Krishna district or offered an MLC seat, once the TDP comes to power.
The selection of Adiseshagiri Rao has also created uncertainty over the fate of another senior TDP leader and former minister Devineni Umamaheshwar Rao, who had earlier represented Mylavaram.
Hitherto, there was a talk that Devineni Uma would be shifted to Penamaluru and the TDP ticket for Mylavaram would be given to sitting MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad, who defected from the YSRCP to the TDP.
So, how the TDP chief is going to satisfy both Devineni Uma and Bode Prasad remains to be seen.
