Naidu Speaks to KVP, at Yadlapati's Dead Body

Senior Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao, who was known as the “soul” of former chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, had never lost an opportunity in taking a dig at Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

When Naidu was the chief minister in his last term, KVP used to dash off letters to him on special category status issue and also Polavaram major irrigation project.

And the TDP chief, too, used to launch a counter attack on KVP describing him as ex-constitutional authority during YSR regime.

So, when such bitter critics of each other meet and hold discussions secretly, it naturally evokes a lot of curiosity among the media.

On Monday, Naidu and KVR had come face to face at the residence of veteran leader Yadlapati Venkat Rao, who passed away in Hyderabad at an age of 103 years.

After paying floral tributes to Yadlapati, both the leaders went to the adjacent room and held discussions for some time. This is said to be the second time when both of them had met in the recent past – the earlier occasion was the demise of former chief minister K Rosaiah.

This time, they spent quite some time together, discussing the latest political situation in Andhra Pradesh. It is learnt they also discussed the role of Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s attempts to move to national politics.

In the past, when Naidu joined hands with the Congress to fight against the BJP, too, KVP has kept away from Naidu. Now, he has chosen to hold talks with Naidu, even for a brief period; and it evoked curiosity.

But having known Naidu’s style of politics, it is for sure that KVP would not make any attempts to join hands with the former for any reason.
