It has not even been a week since Telugu Desam Party’s national official spokesperson and chairman of AP State Fibernet Limited (APSFL) G V Reddy resigned from his post and the primary membership of the party, following a controversy over the developments within the APSFL.
Reddy declared that he was quitting active politics and that he would not join any other party. He said he would concentrate on his legal profession.
His decision triggered a massive uproar in the TDP, as party leaders and cadre took to social media to blame party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for ill-treating sincere party workers, while giving importance to IAS and IPS officers.
There were reports that Naidu had tried to pacify GV Reddy. The chief minister reportedly asked him to return to the party and offered good position to him. But GV Reddy reportedly rejected the same saying it would send bad signals to the cadre. Moreover, he is happy with his legal profession.
But on Saturday, GV Reddy issued a statement praising Naidu for the remarkable budget presented in the state assembly on Friday.
He said the Rs 3.22 lakh crore budget was strategically designed, maintaining a revenue shortfall of only Rs 33,000 crore.
GV Reddy said though he has distanced himself from active politics to focus on his professional career, he still has deep admiration and respect for the chief minister.
He said he was ever grateful to Naidu for entrusting him with key responsibilities within the party and government in a short span, a recognition he said he would never forget.
“I will always remain indebted to Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu for the opportunities given to me. His leadership has been instrumental in my political journey,” GV Reddy remarked.
Expressing his vision for Andhra Pradesh’s future, he emphasized that Chandrababu Naidu Sir should lead the state once again in 2029 for continued development and public welfare.
He urged all progressive-minded Telugu people to support Naidu’s leadership for the state’s growth.
