Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is said to have taken serious note of the ultimatum issued by the party’s Tiruvuru MLA, Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, who threatened to resign from the party if local TDP leader Ramesh Reddy was not expelled within 48 hours.
According to party sources, Naidu directed TDP state president Palla Srinivasa Rao to seek an explanation from Kolikapudi and to address the issue promptly.
He also instructed former minister and NTR district TDP president Nette Raghuram, MP Kesineni Sivanath, and regional coordinator Manthena Satyanarayana Raju to submit a report on the ongoing political developments in Tiruvuru.
On Saturday, a large number of TDP workers gathered at the party’s central office in Mangalagiri, protesting against Kolikapudi and demanding his removal from the party.
Palla Srinivasa Rao intervened to pacify the agitated workers and held discussions with key leaders from Tiruvuru. He warned that disciplinary action would be taken against anyone violating party norms.
The party leadership is particularly concerned about the repeated controversies surrounding Kolikapudi’s behavior over the past 10 months.
“The TDP has already collected feedback on the situation from multiple sources. A three-member committee will submit a report, based on which appropriate action will be taken,” sources said.
Kolikapudi has previously appeared before the party’s disciplinary committee twice and had assured the leadership that he would stay away from controversies.
However, his continued failure to change his approach has caused growing dissatisfaction among senior party leaders.
