Naidu serious on volunteers' social media groups

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu appears to be finding it difficult to gain control over the administration which, he feels, has gone haywire during the previous Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

As Naidu began trying to study the systems, more and more astonishing issues are coming to his notice. One such issue is the way village and ward volunteers are operating even after the change of government.

Apparently, these volunteers are running WhatsApp and Telegram groups with the members of their respective cluster members gaining benefits of various schemes which were implemented by the previous government.

While the purpose of these groups was to monitor the status and progress of distribution of welfare schemes to the people, it has come to the notice of Naidu that the volunteers are misusing these groups for spreading anti-TDP campaign.

The Naidu government has given strict instructions to all the volunteers to delete all these WhatsApp groups and Telegram groups with clusters of beneficiaries by Monday evening.

The government also issued a public notice asking the people to voluntarily exit from these social media groups. The government also asked the village/ward secretariat staff to create awareness among the people and see that the people exit from such groups.

Naidu also asked all the municipal commissioners and mandal parishad officers to send the details of all the deleted WhatsApp and Telegram groups by evening.
