For a second time in his four decades of political career, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu had pleaded with the people once again to save him (from his rivals).
He made this appeal for the second time all through his career, at his Praja Chaitanya Yatra (bus tour) in Prakasam district.
Chandrababu Naidu made this appeal for the first time in 2018, when he left the BJP and started fighting against Narendra Modi-Amit Shah combine.
He called upon the people to rally behind him and provide security cover to him, as he is being targeted by his political rivals.
He knew very well that he would be arrested one day, for his political conspiracies and corruption, which he had been managing and avoiding for all these years.
Besides the raids on his long-standing personal secretary Srinivas, several other TDP leaders, most of them allegedly his associates, are now in the IT watch.
This apart, the IT had also set its eyes on senior Congress leader Ahmad Patel, a close and trusted aide of Sonia Gandhi.
Ahmad Patel is said to have received over Rs 400 crore hawala money and this route is reportedly connected to Chandrababu Naidu’s former PS, Srinivas.
Chandrababu Naidu worked with the Congress leaders in 2018-19 elections. He had worked against the BJP and helped the Congress in the elections held in different States.
He played key role in Karnataka elections and is alleged to have funded the Congress election campaign.
Ahmad Patel was the connecting point for Chandrababu Naidu with Sonia Gandhi and it is thus, those Rs 400 crore was sent to him and that link was found by the IT officials during their raids on various persons including Chandrababu Naidu’s former PS.
It is very clear that his enemies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah at the Centre and chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy in the State are firm on closing Chandrababu Naidu’s chapter.
Both the BJP at the national level and the YSR Congress in the State level, are firm on seeing the end of Chandrababu Naidu and his TDP.
Naidu, being in public life for 40 years and having seen more political strategies all through, is able smell this common agenda of the BJP and the YSR Congress, which are in power, for his disadvantage.
It is for this reason, he cries foul and is repeatedly asking people to save him “in their own interest.”
However, it is to be seen whether the people would stand for him or would watch him paying the price for betraying NTR and indulging in unscrupulous politics.
