Nobody knows better than Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu as to how to use and throw political leaders for his own party benefits.
This seems to have come to the experience of former MLA from Vijayawada and prominent Kapu leader Vangaveeti Radhakrishna.
The reports that Naidu has finalized the name of Bonda Umamaheshwar Rao for Vijayawada (Central) for a second successive term, is said to have come as a rude shock to Vangaveeti.
The former MLA resigned from the YSR Congress party in protest against denial of the party ticket from Vijayawada central constituency. Apparently, he got the feelers from Naidu that he would take care of his seat from the same constituency.
Believing Naidu, Vangaveeti came out of the YSRC and displayed his loyalty to Naidu.
He gave enough indications that he would be joining the TDP and even tendered an unconditional apology to Naidu for making allegations against him in the past and thanked him for inviting him into the party.
Though Vangaveeti was supposed to join the TDP on January 25, there has not been any communication from Naidu about the allocation of Vijayawada Central seat to him.
And now with the TDP sources indicating that the party ticket for the seat would be re-allocated to Bonda Uma, the Kapu leader is said to be crestfallen.
Vangaveeti now cannot go back to YSRC, after abusing Y S Jagamohan Reddy in harsh words.
It is learnt Naidu has sent message to him that he would be given MLC seat, but he is not interested.
He is feeling cheated by Naidu, whose only objective was to force him come out of YSRC and make him ineffective.
Now, even if Vangaveeti contests as an independent, there will be hardly any takers for him, because of his inconsistent stand.
“After all, he is surviving only because of his father’s image. He does not have any image of his own. So, Naidu dumped him,” a political analyst said.
