TDP chief and opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu has started briefing the media on a daily basis.
With elections just nine months away, Naidu seems to have made up his mind to speak to the media every day and compare his government with Jagan’s government.
During the media briefings, he presents power point presentations with statistics from every sector. In the last two days, he has been providing statistics on irrigation projects in the Rayalaseema region and the entire state.
Scheduled to speak on the Polavaram Project on Friday, it is unlikely that he will address the damages to the diaphragm wall, which would require another Rs 2,000 crore to rebuild.
According to Naidu, his government had spent over Rs 72,000 crore on irrigation projects and had completed 70 to 90 percent of the works.
What is interesting is that the yellow media gives live coverage of the press conference, where he also hurls abuses at the government and Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He is likely to continue this daily media briefing for another two months and then take his version of development to the people.
Like a student sitting at home, preparing a question paper, writing an exam, and giving marks to himself, Naidu is conducting his daily media briefing.
He is also planning to disseminate the information from the press conference to the people through his party workers.
In addition to gaining wide publicity in the media, his party workers will be distributing pamphlets to the people about his vision and that of Jagan.
It remains to be seen how far people will buy his claims and believe him.
