YSR Congress party leader and former MLA from Dharmavaram assembly constituency in Anantapur, Kethireddy Venkat Rami Reddy has found fault his party leadership for attacking the Telugu Desam Party-led National Democratic Alliance government in Andhra Pradesh for not implementing the Super Six guarantees announced before the elections.
“It has not even been two months since the NDA government led by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu came to power. Why are you gunning for his head so early on the implementation of promises made before the elections?” Kethireddy asked in a talk on his YouTube channel.
The YSRCP leader said Naidu should be given at least a year’s time to implement his promises.
“It is not appropriate to raise a hue and cry over non-implementation of welfare schemes in this two-months’ time. It is foolish to expect the new government to do miracles within such a short period,” he said.
Kethireddy recalled that Naidu had told the people during the elections that he would implement all the welfare schemes by creating wealth.
“He needs at least a financial year to mobilise funds for the schemes. Why are you in a hurry?” he asked party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He pointed out that the YSRCP had lost power to the alliance by winning just 11 assembly seats despite implementation of welfare schemes.
“The party’s image suffered a heavy damage due to liquor and sand mafia,” he said.
Kethireddy said he had toured extensively among the people and attended to their works with utmost dedication.
“But I had to bear the brunt of the people for the mistakes committed by the government and face the defeat,” he said.
He felt that Jagan’s over-confidence on securing support from the weaker sections like SCs, STs and BCs and his overemphasis on the welfare led to other sections of people distancing from the party.
