Firebrand YSR Congress party leader and Andhra Pradesh civil supplies minister Kodali Venkateshwar Rao alias Nani, who doesn’t leave any opportunity to attack Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, found yet another opportunity on Friday.
Reacting to Naidu’s outburst against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government on the arrest of TDP MLC P Ashok Babu on the forgery and cheating charges, Kodali lashed out at the TDP chief for defending his party leader.
“Ashok Babu is a thief, as he got promotion with forged degree certificate. Naidu, who is defending such a thief, is no less than a gang leader of thieves. Whether it is Chandrababu Naidu or Ashok Babu, everybody is same before the law,” he said.
Kodali pointed out that the CID had booked a case against Ashok Babu on the basis of a complaint lodged by his own office colleague, not the YSR Congress party.
“The TDP and its gang leader are trying to defend a corrupt leader and a cheat,” he said.
He alleged that Ashok Babu had taken advantage of the emotions of the state government employees at the time of state bifurcation and pampered Chandrababu Naidu to get the MLC seat.
“The Election Commission itself has found fault with Ashok Babu. How can Naidu defend such a person?” he asked.
