Naidu is still obsessed with vision documents!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has a fascination for creating vision documents, whenever he is in power, but in practice, the vision doesn’t translate into action.

In early ‘2000s, Naidu used to talk about “Vision 2020,” in which he came out with a road map for the development of the state by the year 2020.

He even studied the South Korean developmental model and sought to implement the same in Andhra Pradesh.

But even before he made any attempt to implement his vision document, Naidu lost the elections in 2004. So, his Vision-2020 has been dumped into the dust bin.

By the time, he came to power again, the state was bifurcated and he had to rule the truncated AP.

This time, his vision has undergone a major change. Naidu came up with a new 15-year vision document and came up with Vision-2029 document, proposing to make AP as the most development state by 2029.

But unfortunately, the TDP chief could not bring his vision into practice, as he lost power to Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSR Congress party in 2001. Once again, his vision document gathered dust in the cupboards.

Now, Naidu is once again back to power in Andhra Pradesh. And again, Naidu came up with his vision document for the state. On Monday, he announced that his government would unveil a new vision document by October 2.

It is not immediately known what the target of Naidu would be. But he is expected to prepare his vision document for 2047 on October 2, in tune with the Centre’s vision document on the occasion of completion of 100 years of Independence.

The chief minister also announced that his government has set a target of 100 days for implementation of Super Six guarantees.
