Naidu for bus yatra, Lokesh on cycle yatra?

With a little over two years left for the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party has begun the preparations to fight the elections in the right earnest by deciding to go into people and win back their confidence.

Amidst reports of a possible early assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is learnt to have decided to begin touring different parts of the state to meet people and seek their support.

According to party sources, Naidu might go on a bus yatra across the length and breadth of the state, as he has become too old to take up padayatra. He is planning to tour every nook and corner of the state by bus.

Simultaneously, his son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh is expected to take up a padayatra all over the state.

But sources said Lokesh is interested in travelling by bicycle across the state, as an innovative measure because padayatras have become tool old-fashioned. He will be among the people till the elections are completed.

A decision to this effect is expected to be taken at the party politburo meeting to be held in the party office at Mangalagiri on Thursday. The action plan is expected to be approved at the party’s Mahanadu to be held from May 27 to 29.

The TDP is also said to be planning to announce the party candidates for the next elections much ahead of the polling schedule. In most cases, the constituency in-charges to be appointed themselves would become the party MLA candidates.
