Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is not leaving any chance to get back to power in the state at any cost in the upcoming assembly elections.
Right from engaging a political strategist to joining hands with Jana Sena Party chief and power star Pawan Kalyan to selection of candidates well in advance, the TDP chief is going all out to see that he would not miss the bus this time.
Now, in a last ditch effort, Naidu seems to have taken a cue from Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in invoking the divine powers and seeking their blessings for coming to power again.
So, starting Friday, the TDP chief will be busy conducting special “yagam” at his Vundavalli residence in Amaravati to seek divine blessings.
The rituals include Satha Chandi Parayanam, Ekothara Vridhi Chandi Yagam, Sudershana Narasimha Homam and other Vedic programmes for the next three days.
Massive arrangements are learnt to have been made at the residence of Naidu at Vundavalli, in which he and his wife Bhuvaneshwari will be performing the rituals, in which his other family members will be taking part.
Party sources say the rituals are not essentially for the TDP victory, but for the good health of Naidu and his family, besides warding off the evil forces that troubled him in the recent months – like his imprisonment for nearly 50 days for the first time in his four-decade-long political career.
Sources said Naidu has cancelled all his other engagements for these three days and will be focusing on the Yagam and other rituals.
It may be mentioned that Naidu has been on a temple run ever since he was out from the jail on bail.
He visited the Lord Venkateshwara temple on Tirumala, Goddess Kanaka Durga temple at Vijayawada and other temples in Tamil Nadu.
He also visited Mother Mary temple at Gunadala in Vijayawada.
