Naidu fans forge Modi tweet to boost TDP!

The Telugu Desam Party followers and fans of party president N Chandrababu Naidu seem to be extremely excited over Prime Minister Narendra Modi reciprocating his call on Tuesday to have a brief chat on Coronavirus pandemic situation in the country.

While Naidu himself could not hide his excitement and shared it with the reporters over a video conference and showered praises on Modi, describing him as bold, efficient, statesman etc., his followers went a step ahead.

They forged the Prime Minister’s tweet on his talk with Naidu and made it viral in the social media platforms like twitter and Instagram of the TDP supporters in the name of “hope.of.andhra.”

The tweet, purported to have been made on the Prime Minister’s twitter handle said: “This morning I spoke with Sri @ncbn ji. His suggestions to counter this pandemic are very much acceptable. @ncbn ji, thank you for giving such great suggestions and let’s fight the corona together. #IndiafightsCovid19 #Covid19Pandemic.

When people crosschecked, this tweet turned out to be a fake. Modi had never posted any comment, neither in praise of @ncbn ji nor acknowledging his suggestions to counter the Corona pandemic, let alone saying they are very much acceptable.

One does not know whether Naidu is really aware of such fake postings in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but he should know that such postings would definitely damage his whatever image that is left in the people, after the last year’s election debacle.

Already, the TDP chief is facing a heavy trolling for his eagerness to get closer to the BJP leadership and Modi and giving unsolicited advices to the Prime Minister.

It is unfortunate that even a courtesy call-back from Modi is also being used by the TDP for political gains.

In fact, Modi has not been responding to Naidu’s messages or greetings on twitter or Instagram since the last elections.

The only time when Modi had retweeted Naidu was on March 20, when he said: “Bipartisan support in such efforts are deeply appreciated. We have to fight this menace together.”

It is better Naidu and his followers stop using Modi’s image to revive themselves, lest they become laughing stocks in public.
