Despite intense lobbying, Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu failed to get an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Tuesday to lodge a complaint against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
According to sources in the national capital, his party MPs ran from from pillar post to get any appointment for Naidu and his delegation with the Prime Minister and the home minister, if not both.
“Shah was in Kashmir and he is expected to return to New Delhi by afternoon. But after coming to know that it is unlikely to meet the TDP delegation, as he had to meet the Prime Minister to give a briefing on Kashmir situation, the TDP chief is returning to Hyderabad by evening flight,” sources said.
Sources said YSR Congress MP from Narasapuram Kanumuru Raghurama Krishnam Raju also made intense lobbying for securing an appointment of Shah or Modi to the TDP delegation led by Naidu.
“Raju maintains cordial relations with both Modi and Shah. It is because of their support that he could wriggle out of the sedition case filed against him by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government. He tried to use his relations to get an appointment with the top bosses of New Delhi, but in vain,” sources added.
The TDP delegation led by Naidu could meet President of India Ramnath Kovind on Monday and submitted a representation to him, seeking imposition of President’s Rule in Andhra Pradesh and a probe by Central Bureau of investigation into the YSRC attacks on the TDP offices and leaders.
He also demanded recall of Director General of Police Gautam Sawang and a comprehensive inquiry into the drug mafia allegedly spread in the state.
