Naidu crying over bogus votes' deletion!

Hours after Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu submitting a representation to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar alleging large scale deletion of votes at the behest of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh, the YSR Congress party shot back at him with a counter memorandum to the ECI.

YSRC delegation led by Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy alleged that the TDP itself had manipulated the voters’ list and enrolled bogus voters in large numbers.

“There has been large number of bogus voters enrolled since 2017 and the EC officials are now deleting the same. But Naidu is crying foul, like a thief himself shouting aloud alerting people about the theft,” he said.

He said if there was a game in Olympics on enrolment of bogus voters, the TDP chief would win a gold medal in the game.

“We explained in detail how the previous TDP government led by Naidu had resorted to enrolment of bogus voters in large numbers,” he said.

For instance, the name of a voter by name Lakshmi was enrolled in different lists by changing the spelling, age and door number.

“We showed to the CEC along with evidences how the Naidu government had manipulated the voters’ list. Even people without addresses and vagabond people were also included in the voters’ list,” Sai Reddy alleged.

The YSRC general secretary demanded that the ECI should link the voters’ identification with Aadhar card, so that there would be no bogus voters. Secondly, the ECI should incorporate biometric system, so that one citizen would have only one vote.

Sai Reddy also demanded that the EC order a comprehensive inquiry into the enrolment of voters since 2014, so as to expose who were the real thieves.
