Naidu Calls, Consoles Kuppam Leaders

After the humiliating defeat in the just-concluded Gram Panchayat elections, TDP chief and former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu had called his party leaders in his Kuppam Assembly constituency.

Chandrababu Naidu consoled the party leaders, who could not match the ruling YSR Congress leaders.

While Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, who steered the panchayat elections with greater focus on Kuppam, Chandragiri Assembly constituencies in Chittoor district had dedicated the party’s victory to chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, the TDP chief tried to reach out to his party leaders and console them for the debacle.

The TDP chief is planning to make a two-day visit to his home constituency – Kuppam – in the last week of February before he starts the campaign for the municipal elections.

The TDP chief wants his party leaders to get back their confidence and fight the elections, ignoring the debacle and the negative results.

Chandrababu Naidu is reportedly focusing on Vijayawada, Guntur and Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporations to teach a lesson to Jagan Mohan Reddy.

While Vijayawada and Guntur are part of his erstwhile Amaravati capital, Visakhapatnam is the proposed administrative capital of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The TDP is also looking for a face-saving development after the humiliating defeat in the panchayat elections.

The TDP now strongly believes that the urban voters who decide the municipal vote, are better informed than the rural voters and that would come as an advantage to the party.
