YSR Congress party on Friday alleged that Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was the brain behind the letter written by the Telangana government to Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) on Thursday, seeking to stop release of water to Rayalaseema.
Senior YSRC legislator and government chief whip Gadikota Srikanth Reddy said all the letters written by the Telangana government to the Centre and the KRMB were drafted in the TDP office in Hyderabad and only the signatures were made by the TRS government officials.
“The latest letter written by the Telangana government to KRMB asking for not allowing release of Krishna water from Srisailam reservoir to Rayalaseema through Pothireddypadu head regulator was also done at the behest of Chandrababu Naidu,” he alleged.
He said Naidu had backstabbed his own father-in-law N T Rama Rao in the past and now, he was backstabbing the people of Andhra Pradesh by conspiring against the Rayalaseema projects.
Srikanth Reddy pointed out the TDP chief was blatantly supporting the illegal projects being built by the Telangana government on Krishna river. This was why the Telangana government was writing letters to the Centre against Andhra projects.
“He has forgotten the role of the opposition leader and has become an advisor to Telangana on irrigation,” he said.
He reminded that when former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy took up the expansion of Pothireddypadu in the past, Naidu along with Devineni Uma had taken up fasting on Prakasam barrage.
“Now, he is forcing his party MLAs from Prakasam to write letters to the government against Rayalaseema lift irrigation scheme, thereby creating rifts between the two regions for his selfish political gains,” the chief whip pointd out.
