Naidu behind Sai Reddy's coterie talk: YSRCP

YSR Congress party on Wednesday alleged that the allegations made by former party general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy about the “coterie” around Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, were part of the “diversion” strategy of Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Within hours of Sai Reddy talking about coterie around Jagan, senior YSRCP leader and former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy said the former MP’s comments were part of Naidu’s diversion politics.

He said Sai Reddy used to speak for hours with Jagan Mohan Reddy when he was the chief minister and was now making such claims about a "coterie" which was misleading.

He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu orchestrated these remarks to create confusion among the people.

“They are a deliberate attempt to divert public attention from the success of YSRCP’s Formation Day celebrations and the "Yuvatha Poru" movement, which had received massive public support,” Kakani said.

He said Jagan never encouraged any coteries and Sai Reddy’s comments were made to serve the interests of Chandrababu Naidu.

“There is a hidden agenda behind Sai Reddy’s actions, as resigning from the Rajya Sabha seat would benefit the opposition alliance,” he said.

Kakani also accused Sai Reddy of having a secret friendship with Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju, questioning why he had rented out his house to him.

YSRCP State SC Cell President and former MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu dismissed Sai Reddy’s allegations as baseless. He accused Sai Reddy of simply reading out a script provided by others.

“He is frequently talking about a "coterie," stating that he himself had introduced many people to Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he said.
