Konidela Nagababu has stirred controversy with his recent statements that many believe are offensive towards the Reddy community.
While criticism of political opponents is common in politics, Nagababu’s generalization of the entire community and the mention of a non-existent “Pichchi Reddy” have been perceived as disrespectful, sparking outrage on social media.
During his speech, Nagababu stated, “Many are saying they’re afraid of Peddi Reddy and warned me to be careful. But I don’t care about Peddi Reddy or his leader Jagan Mohan Reddy. I wasn’t afraid of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy either. Who is Peddi Reddy to me? For us, under Pawan Kalyan’s leadership, we don’t fear Peddi Reddy, Subba Reddy, or any ‘Picchi Reddy’.”
These remarks have deeply offended Reddy netizens, who argue that such statements reflect underlying animosity towards their community.
Many have pointed out the irony, reminding Nagababu of the Reddy women within his own family—Upasana Reddy and Sneha Reddy, spouses of Ram Charan and Allu Arjun, respectively.
It should be emphasized that no political party members openly talk about castes or make caste-based references, as Janasena leaders do. This reflects their lack of self-esteem and an unintelligent approach to politics.
Nagababu is now facing intense backlash from the Reddy community across social media platforms.
