It has been a long time since former minister and YSR Congress Party leader Mudragada Padmanabham, who once championed the Kapu community cause, has made public statements.
After failing to prevent Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan’s victory in Pithapuram last year, Mudragada adopted the name Padmanabha Reddy and stepped back from the limelight.
Previously known for his frequent letters to TDP president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, as well as to Pawan Kalyan, Mudragada has largely remained silent, though he continues to attend YSRCP meetings led by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
On Wednesday, however, Mudragada broke his silence by writing another letter to Chandrababu Naidu, expressing concern over the registration of cases against YSRCP leaders under the "Red Book" for minor incidents in Andhra Pradesh.
Mudragada urged Chandrababu to introspect on his "vindictive governance," reminding him that power is temporary.
He advised Naidu to guide his son, Lokesh, toward constructive politics rather than inciting conflicts.
He predicted Jagan Mohan Reddy’s inevitable return to power and cautioned that a retaliatory approach from Jagan, mirroring Chandrababu’s actions, could lead to serious consequences.
“Jagan is exercising significant restraint for now. However, if aggrieved party leaders pressure him to retaliate, it could result in unrest in Andhra Pradesh,” he warned.
