More troubles for Vamsi, as CID gets PT warrant

YSR Congress Party leader and former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who was arrested for allegedly kidnapping and intimidating Mudunuru Satyavardhan, a Dalit employee at the Gannavaram TDP office, is now facing further legal troubles.

With the Andhra Pradesh High Court recently rejecting his anticipatory bail plea in the 2023 Gannavaram TDP office attack case, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) has resumed its investigation into his role.

On Monday, the CID obtained a Production Transfer (PT) warrant to further probe Vamsi’s involvement in the TDP office attack. After receiving court approval, the CID is preparing to bring him from the sub-jail to court for questioning.

Vamsi was initially arrested for allegedly threatening Satyavardhan to withdraw his complaint in the attack case and was sent to Vijayawada Sub-Jail under a two-week remand, which is set to expire tomorrow. However, with the High Court rejecting his bail plea, the police will now seek an extension of his remand.

This development means Vamsi now faces two concurrent legal battles, making it increasingly difficult for him to secure an immediate release.
