Conflicting reports are emerging from the coalition camp regarding the fate of Jana Sena Party (JSP) general secretary Konidela Nagababu, as uncertainty persists over his final political role.
Since the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led coalition came to power, Nagababu’s future in the government has remained uncertain.
Initially, he wanted to contest the Lok Sabha elections from the Anakapalli parliamentary constituency, but he was forced to give up the seat in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which fielded C. M. Ramesh instead.
Later, speculation arose that Nagababu would be nominated to the Rajya Sabha, but the move did not materialize due to high competition from the TDP and BJP, with influential figures like Sana Satish securing the posts.
There were also rumors that he would be appointed chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) or the AP State Film Development Corporation, but these positions also failed to come through.
Finally, TDP chief and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that Nagababu would be inducted into the state cabinet. However, JSP chief Pawan Kalyan clarified that this could happen only after his brother becomes an MLC.
Now, with an opportunity to nominate Nagababu as an MLC under the MLAs’ quota, reports initially suggested that Naidu and Pawan Kalyan had reached an agreement to send Nagababu to the Legislative Council and subsequently induct him as a minister.
However, contradictory reports have surfaced in the last few hours. Some sources claim that Nagababu may instead be appointed chairman of an important corporation, a decision allegedly suggested by Pawan Kalyan himself.
Pawan Kalyan reportedly felt that it would be more appropriate for Nagababu to take up a corporation chairman’s role, as it may not be ideal for both brothers to serve in the same cabinet.
Adding to the confusion, another report on Wednesday morning suggested that Pawan Kalyan has changed his stance again, possibly under pressure from Nagababu, and is now requesting Naidu to nominate his brother to the Rajya Sabha instead.
With multiple speculations and shifting decisions, Nagababu’s political future remains uncertain.
