Ministers upset over defection of YSRCP leaders

Discontent seems to be brewing in the Telugu Desam Party camp over the defection of some YSR Congress party leaders in Andhra Pradesh into the alliance partners of Jana Sena Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party in the recent past.

According to sources, some ministers have brought to the attention of TDP general secretary and state IT minister Nara Lokesh that the inclusion of certain YSRCP leaders into NDA parties is causing dissatisfaction and unrest among local TDP cadre.

Before a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Lokesh hosted a breakfast meeting with TDP ministers at the residence of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Undavalli, where various issues, including these inclusions, were discussed.

During the meeting, concerns were raised about appointing a legislative committee to investigate irregularities in Visakha Dairy while simultaneously allowing its chairman, Adari Anand, to join the BJP.

Similarly, another minister Atchennaidu indirectly referred to the inclusion of Ganji Chiranjeevi from the Mangalagiri constituency into Jana Sena, asking if Lokesh was aware of it.

The ministers emphasized that local cadre sentiments must be considered when including YSRCP leaders.

Lokesh advised them to bring any such issues to his attention or to Palla Srinivas, the party's state president, to ensure proper handling.
