Andhra Pradesh Minister for Tourism Muttamsetti Srinivas flayed the Opposition party for drawing controversies over GITAM University lands and reiterated that the government is not vindictive towards the TDP.
He stated that the GITAM University was not a charity organisation, which inturn charges exorbitant fees from the students without even following the rule of reservation and added that the government seized the encroached lands as per the stipulated guidelines, as the institute has occupied government lands
In regard to this, the Minister questioned opposition leaders, why the University was not regularised during the TDP regime and said that a majority of the TDP leaders indeed protested against the GITAM institutions over their illegal land encroachments.
He criticised the opposition TDP leaders for creating hurdles in the path of development and said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is trying to strengthen government institutions, unlike Naidu who only worked to benefit private organisations.
While the Chief Minister has been aiming to develop all 13 districts and all communities, Chandrababu has been confined to Amaravati and his own community, he said.
