The Deccan Chronicle office in Vizag was attacked by TDP activists following a report published in the English daily titled "Alliance takes U-turn on VSP privatization."
The activists stormed the office, vandalized furniture, and engaged in heated arguments with the staff present.
TDP activists climbed the compound wall, damaged the name board, and set fire to a flex banner on the premises.
They claimed there was no truth in the report and insisted that the TDP alliance government would continue to fight against the privatization of the Vizag Steel Plant.
However, the reporters at Deccan Chronicle condemned the attack, stating that a large mandate is not a license for violence. They stood by the accuracy of their report and asserted that they would not be intimidated by such actions.
