As expected, YSR Congress party has bagged several mandal parishad and zilla parishads unanimously, without any contest, amidst allegations by the opposition parties that the ruling party had prevented their candidates from filing nominations.
As the last date of withdrawal of nominations for MPTCs and ZPTCs closed on Saturday evening, it was pretty evident that the YSRC candidates emerged victorious in several constituencies.
In Kadapa, the YSRC has expectedly captured the Zilla Parishad as the party has been declared elected in 35 out of 50 ZPTCs unanimously.
In the remaining 15 ZPTCs, too, the contest is only nominal and the ruling party is expected to win all of them. So, it is going to be a Zilla Parishad without any opposition.
Even in Pulivendula assembly constituency represented by YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the local municipality was captured by YSRC unanimously, as no opposition candidate dared to file nominations.
Similarly, several MPTCs in the district also went in favour of YSRC as there was only one nomination by YSRC candidate in every mandal parishad.
The Kadapa municipal corporation, too, will go into the account of the ruling party which already captured 10 divisions unanimously.
There have been reports of YSRC bagging 12 ZPTCs in Kurnool, eight in Nellore, eight in Guntur, three in Krishna and two in West Godavari unanimously.
