Till a few months ago, Tollywood actor Manchu Vishnu had been an active supporter of YSR Congress party led by former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
In fact, he has a direct family relationship with Jagan, as his wife Veronica is the YSRCP chief’s first cousin.
Before 2019 elections, Vishnu’s father and senior actor Manchu Mohan Babu joined the YSRCP and campaigned for the party.
Though Vishnu did not join the YSRCP officially, he had been a supporter of the party. He had luncheon meetings with Jagan and Bharati a couple of times.
Now that the YSRCP is out of power and Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government is there in Andhra Pradesh, equations seem to have changed.
On Saturday, Vishnu came down to Amaravati to have one-on-one meeting with chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s son and state IT minister Nara Lokesh.
He shared the news on social media platform X.
In a tweet, Vishnu said he had a productive discussion on various issues with his "dynamic minister" brother, Nara Lokesh, praising Lokesh’s positive energy and expressing wishes for his further strength with a "Har Har Mahadev" tweet.
However, Vishnu did not disclose the details of their discussion.
Though it was initially speculated that he might have met Lokesh to discuss about concessions for his upcoming movie "Kannappa", but the movie is set for release on April 25, 2025. So, there is a lot of time to seek any favours.
So, the reason could be something else. Despite earlier support for the YSRCP, the Manchu family has maintained a distance in recent times.
Vishnu's meeting with Lokesh has sparked interest in political circles.
