Lokesh hints at alliance with BJP!

The Telugu Desam Party is willing to enter into an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party in Andhra Pradesh, if such a situation arises, in order to pull down the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

This was indicated by none other than TDP general secretary and son of former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh, rather openly, while interacting with a section of Muslim minorities at Anantapuram on Wednesday.

During the interaction, some Dudekula group Muslim representatives asked Lokesh whether the TDP would have an alliance with the BJP, which is anti-Muslim and if it happens, why they should vote for the TDP.

However, Lokesh gave them a patient answer. He said there was no need for any apprehensions among the Muslims, even if the TDP enters into an alliance with the BJP.

“In the past, the TDP extended support to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre. Yet, there was no problem for the Muslims in Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

He said this time, too, if the TDP has an alliance with the BJP, it would ensure that it would not harm the interests of the Muslim minorities.

“Like in the past, when the TDP had an alliance with the BJP, we extended a lot of benefits to the Muslims like “Ramzan tofah” and establishment of a separate federation for Muslims.

“We gave a number of positions to the Muslims both in the party and the government. But during the present YSRC government which has friendly relations with the BJP, there were atrocities on Muslim women,” he pointed out.

Thus, Lokesh made it clear that if given an opportunity, the TDP will be willing to have an alliance with the BJP. Maybe, it has got an assurance after the talks between Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan with the BJP top leaders in Delhi.

Let us see how the BJP leaders would react now.
