Logical Points On Vizag As The Capital

Dharmana Prasada Rao, the Minister of the state mentioned some logical points to support the idea of three capitals and making Vizag as the administrative capital.

He said that any city can be mentioned as capital, but from where the administration happens, that place will be considered as the capital. He mentioned that Bhuvneshwar is termed as the capital of Odisha but the activities happen in Cuttack.

He reiterated that there are eight states in the country where the administration is happening in one place and the high court in another place. He asked who is demanding a single capital zone in those states. Dharmana said that it is the duty of the citizens to protect Vizag as the administrative capital of the state in his address during the door to door campaign.

He made it clear that Vizag will be the main capital of the state while Kurnool and Amaravati will run with the respective government functions.

He also questioned whether Chennai is not in the center of Tamilnadu but still has been the successful capital city of that state. He also recalled that Hyderabad was not in the center of the combined AP state as well. He also pointed out the fact that the capitals of West Bengal and Maharashtra also were not in the center of those states.

Dharmana said, "It is the connectivity that matters here. Vizag has a sea port and airport. The railway zone also is coming up. Like the private investments that made Hyderabad bigger, Vizag also will attract such huge investments".

He concluded saying, "YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is totally focussed on making Vizag the capital. 500 acres of land is enough for the new capital zone".
