After 21 days of gripping anxiety, counting day has finally arrived. Initial trends are expected to start ticking out by 11 am onwards.
The Election Commission is hopeful of completing the counting process for the 175 assembly constituencies by 5pm, while the counting for 25 Lok Sabha constituencies may go up till 10 pm or midnight.
With the elections witnessing a fierce battle between the ruling YSRCP and the NDA alliance of TDP, BJP and Jana Sena, all eyes are on the outcome, particularly the assembly results that will shape the state’s political landscape and priorities, including a final decision on the capital city.
Andhra Pradesh registered one of the highest polling percentage in the country — 81.6% — which is slightly higher than the previous elections and way above national average.
