Liquor scam: Raj Kasireddy flies to US?

Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, also known as Raj Kasireddy, the former Information Technology advisor to the Andhra Pradesh government during the YSR Congress Party regime under Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, is reported to have quietly left India and landed in the United States in connection with the alleged liquor scam, according to sources.

Raj Kasireddy was scheduled to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Andhra Pradesh police for questioning on Wednesday but deliberately avoided it.

This is not the first time he has evaded questioning — he had previously skipped summons on two occasions.

On Friday, when police attempted to trace his whereabouts, they were shocked to learn that he had left for the U.S. a few days earlier.

Despite lookout notices being issued in the past, he reportedly found ways to leave the country, sources said.

A distant relative of Jagan, Raj Kasireddy is believed to be the mastermind behind the multi-thousand crore liquor scam that allegedly took place during the YSRCP rule.

Even former YSRCP general secretary V Vijay Sai Reddy, who recently resigned from both the party and his Rajya Sabha seat, publicly stated that Raj Kasireddy was the “kartha-karma-kriya” (subject-object-verb) of the liquor scam. He also said he would reveal all the details at an appropriate time.

Last week, the High Court dismissed Raj Kasireddy’s petition seeking anticipatory bail, leaving him with no option but to appear before the police for investigation. Fearing arrest, he apparently fled to the U.S., sources said.

According to SIT findings, Raj Kasireddy allegedly controlled the supply of lesser-known liquor brands to government-run outlets.

He is believed to have collected monthly commissions of at least ₹60 crore from liquor companies, funnelling nearly ₹3,000 crore to top-level individuals.

Evidence gathered by the SIT suggests that Raj Kasireddy orchestrated the entire kickback network from a special office in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, and coordinated operations with a senior leader during the YSRCP government.

He allegedly dictated which liquor brands and quantities were to be purchased and distributed on any given day — effectively controlling the state’s liquor distribution system.
