'Like Frogs In Pond': Jagan's Dig At Naidu, Pawan

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a sharp critique against Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan on Sunday, likening them to "frogs."

"Just like frogs that appear in a pond during the rains, non-local leaders like Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan emerge to seek votes with deceptive promises as elections approach," he commented.

He further criticized, "Once the elections are over, these non-local leaders will return to Hyderabad. This shows their lack of genuine commitment to the people of Andhra Pradesh."

He added that these non-local leaders, who he compared to members of a "New East India Company," are only interested in exploiting the state.

"I want to remind everyone that they will plunder everything in the state and share the loot among themselves," he stated.

On the preceding Saturday, Chief Minister Reddy unveiled the YSR Congress Party's (YSRCP) election manifesto at the Tadepalli camp office in Vijayawada.

Modifying the 2019 manifesto titled Navaratnalu, he introduced the updated manifesto as Navaratnalu Plus.

Jagan Mohan Reddy has pledged to gradually increase welfare pensions from ₹3,000 to ₹3,500 per month and plans to govern the state from Visakhapatnam.

During the 2019 elections, YSRCP achieved a resounding victory in Andhra Pradesh, securing 151 out of 175 seats in the Assembly and overthrowing the TDP government.

The party also won 22 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats, capturing a vote share of 49.89 percent, while the TDP managed only three seats with 40.19 percent of the votes. The BJP and Congress did not win any seats in the state.

Looking ahead to the 2024 elections, YSRCP is contesting all 25 parliamentary constituencies and the 175 state Assembly seats independently. They face competition from the Congress-led INDIA bloc and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which includes the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the N Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party (JSP).
