When they have power, they do all sorts of crimes. When someone else comes to power and attempts to do justice, they touch the feet of the 'power' posing like victims.
This is the situation in Andhra Pradesh.
When the TDP was in power, it had allotted government land to its kith and kin on quid pro quo basis.
In the process, a prime land in Vizag of about 26 cents was allotted to a close aide at the price of Rs 33,000 per year in the first quarter of the year 2004 when Chandrababu was the CM. But the person has sub leased it to a hotel owner at Rs 40 lakh rent per year.
Knowing this crime, the present government authorities have demolished the hotel and brought back the government land.
But a picture showing the hotel owner Harshavardhan Prasad touching the feet of the EO to stop demolishing is made viral by the TDP groups to garner sympathy.
The irony is, whenever a wrong doer is caught even red handed, he tries to act like a victim by projecting the duty of the government as cruelty.
Many are lamenting that the authorities are taking action without giving the notice. Well, there is no protocol to issue the notice, but can directly demolish anything in the government land.
The demand for prior notice is only to get stay from the court. So, the government is not leaving that chance to the land grabbers.
