Land encroachment by Sajjala: Officials begin survey

A team of officials from various departments of the Andhra Pradesh government on Friday conducted a survey in the estate lands belonging to the family of YSR Congress party general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy in Kadapa district, to find out allegations of the encroachments of assigned and forest lands.

The survey was conducted following the directions given by state forest and environment minister and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan for an investigation into allegations of forest and DKT (assigned) land encroachments linked to the Sajjala family's estate in Kadapa.

The survey was conducted in Subbalagidiki village of CK Dinne Mandal of YSR district, adjacent to the Chittoor-Kurnool National Highway. Revenue, forest department, and land survey teams participated in the process.

Preliminary findings by revenue officials indicate that out of the 146 acres owned by the Sajjala family, approximately 55 acres fall under forest land.

According to official records, the land holdings of the Sajjala family members are: 71.49 acres in the name of Sajjala Sandeep Reddy, 16.85 acres in the name of Sajjala Janardhan Reddy, 21.46 acres in the name of Y Satya Sandeep Reddy and 146.75 acres in the name of Sajjala Vijayakumari and others.

A previous revenue survey had already determined that around 55 acres of these lands were illegally occupied government and forest lands.

Following government orders to conduct a comprehensive survey and clearly mark land boundaries, officials have now taken up the survey again to resolve the matter.

Pawan Kalyan has instructed officials to submit a detailed report identifying illegally occupied forest lands and their current status.
