Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is likely to take strong disciplinary action against his own party MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao from Tiruvuru assembly constituency following complaints of misconduct from the local TDP leaders.
According to party sources, Naidu sought a report on the MLA for his alleged highhanded behaviour in the constituency, bringing bad name to the party.
Kolikapudi has been summoned to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee to provide explanations for multiple incidents.
The latest controversy involves a property dispute in Gopalapuram village, NTR district, where Kollikapudi allegedly assaulted an ST couple during a land conflict.
The incident, which occurred in the presence of police, led to the woman attempting suicide.
Following public protests against the MLA, the chief minister directed party leaders to take necessary actions based on the committee's recommendations.
The first time MLA, who shot into limelight with his active participation in Amaravati farmers’ agitation, has been creating troubles to the party with his controversial statements and actions, right from the days of electioneering.
There were also allegations of sexual advances by him towards some women and attacks and threatening of journalists and farmers. In October, several journalists met Naidu and complained to him against Kolikapudi.
Added to this, the MLA has been taking out rallies in his constituency creating a tense atmosphere. Even the local TDP leaders are dead against him.
