Kolikapudi gives ultimatum to TDP leadership

Kolikapudi Srinivas Rao, the controversial Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislator from Tiruvuru Assembly constituency in NTR district, who has previously received multiple warnings from the party high command for his aggressive behavior, has now turned the tables.

On Thursday, Kolikapudi issued an ultimatum to the party leadership, demanding action against local TDP leader and former market committee chairman Ramesh Reddy.

He threatened to resign from his assembly membership if Ramesh Reddy is not sacked within 48 hours.

Reportedly, Kolikapudi received complaints from local tribal residents, accusing Ramesh Reddy of making inappropriate and obscene remarks toward a tribal woman who had contacted him regarding a loan issue.

Bringing the matter to the party’s attention, Kolikapudi demanded disciplinary action and alleged that Ramesh Reddy is being shielded by Vijayawada MP Kesineni Chinni’s office, which could be influencing the lack of action.

Citing questionable financial dealings, Kolikapudi claimed that Ramesh Reddy stated he had given ₹50 lakh and four tractors to a person named Kishore at the so-called “Chinni Office.” However, upon inquiry, the MLA found that only one tractor had actually been provided.

Recalling his early political journey, Kolikapudi became emotional and stated that tribal communities were the first to support and bless him when he entered the Tiruvuru constituency.

Expressing anger, he said that if he were to come face-to-face with Ramesh Reddy after such indecent behavior, he wasn’t sure how he would react.

The MLA has demanded immediate suspension of individuals who make inappropriate remarks. His statements, particularly those targeting the Vijayawada MP, have gone viral within party circles.

Kolikapudi has been a frequent source of controversy within the party.

Earlier, the TDP leadership had summoned him for an explanation regarding various issues, including controversies related to liquor shops and the suicide attempt of a village sarpanch’s wife.

Though he appeared before the party’s disciplinary committee and presented his defense, reports suggest that he still does not maintain cordial relations with several other TDP leaders.
