Former speaker and senior Telugu Desam Party leader late Kodela Sivaprasada Rao’s son Kodela Shivaram is said to be evading questioning by the Telangana police in connection with his father’s suicide.
The Banjara Hills’ police have sent notices to Shivaram and his sister Vijayalakshmi twice for questioning them in connection Kodela’s suicide. But they have not responded to the notices yet.
As a result, the Hyderabad police changed their plan. They are now said to be planning to travel to Guntur to question Shivaram and his sister at their residence, instead of summoning them to Hyderabad.
The police have already collected some evidences with regard to the circumstances that led to Kodela’s suicide and unless they corroborated with his children’s statements, they cannot come to a conclusion. They would also enquire about Kodela’s phone and his recent conversations with various people.
Shivaram is accused in several cases, including assembly furniture. The court granted conditional bail a few days ago.
On Wednesday, Shivaram appeared before the Mangalagiri court on the orders of the High Court in the case of stealing assembly furniture.
Shivaram’s lawyer Abdul Razak said that when the High Court granted bail to Sivaram, he handed over the sureties to the Mangalgiri court. Every Friday, he has to attend the Tullur police station and has to sign.
Assembly furniture was found in Kodela sivaram's hero Honda showroom which was stolen from Assembly when Siva Prasad was speaker.
A case has been registered under Section 409 and 411 of Indian Penal Code in this regard.
