Kesineni says no to politics, but not to public service!

It has been quite some time since we have heard about Kesineni Nani, who was a two-time Lok Sabha member from Vijayawada on the Telugu Desam Party ticket and had lost the last year’s Lok Sabha elections on YSR Congress party ticket.

Not just joining the YSRCP before the elections, Kesineni also mae strong comments against criticized TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh, who had earlier supported him by granting him tickets.

In the last elections, the alliance wave turned against him, and he lost to his own brother Chinni. Following his defeat, Kesineni announced his retirement from politics and has not been heard since then.

Recently, however, there were speculations on social media about his potential return to politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. The speculations surfaced after he was seen maintaining contact with BJP state president Daggubati Purandeswari.

His meetings with local BJP leaders and frequent praise for national leader Nitin Gadkari fuelled rumours that he might join the BJP. However, on Sunday, Kesineni released a statement clarifying his stance.

He reiterated that he had officially announced his political retirement on June 10, 2024, and that his decision remains unchanged. He firmly believes that one does not need to be in politics to serve the people.

Kesineni stated that public service is a lifelong commitment that transcends caste, religion, and political affiliations. He reassured that he would continue working for the welfare of the Vijayawada parliamentary constituency and its people.

He clarified that his service to society is independent of any political party or position but is deeply rooted in his commitment to the well-being of his fellow citizens in Vijayawada.

He urged everyone to disregard baseless reports about his political comeback and stated that his focus remains solely on the development and welfare of the people in the Vijayawada parliamentary constituency.

Kesineni expressed gratitude to all his supporters and reaffirmed his dedication to continuing his service with the same passion and commitment.
