Having lost to his own brother and Telugu Desam Party leader Kesineni Shivanath alias Chinni by a margin of over 2.82 lakh votes in the recent elections in Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency, former MP and YSR Congress party leader Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani on Monday announced that he was quitting politics, once and for all.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kesineni said: “After careful consideration and reflection I have decided to step away from politics and conclude my political journey.”
He also removed the YSR Congress party image, photo of party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and the party flag from his X account.
Stating that serving the people of Vijayawada as a Member of Parliament for two terms has been an incredible honour, Kesineni said the resilience and determination of the people of Vijayawada have been his inspiration, and he was profoundly thankful for their unwavering support.
“Although I am stepping away from the political arena, my commitment to Vijayawada remains strong. I will continue to support and advocate for the betterment of Vijayawada in any way I can,” he declared.
He expressed his heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported him in his political journey.
“As I move on to the next chapter, I carry with me cherished memories and invaluable experiences,” he said, without explaining what he is going to do in the coming days.
“I wish the new representatives all the best in striving for the development and prosperity of Vijayawada. I thank the people of Vijayawada once again for according me the incredible opportunity to serve them for ten years. With heartfelt gratitude,” Kesineni added.
