Telangana chief minister and TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to axe his cabinet colleague and state health minister Etela Rajender.
Rajender is accused of land grab to the tune of 100 acres in Medak district. The Chief Minister is said to have directed the Vigilance sleuths to investigate into the allegation.
The chief minister is likely to sack or ask Etela to quit the cabinet pending the vigilance investigation.
Etela, a long-time associate of KCR in the Telangana movement was the first finance minister of the newly-created state between 2014 and 2019.
In the second term, the finance portfolio was given to T Harish Rao, pushing Etela to Health Ministry.
The chief minister is in possession of a secret revenue report on the land grab and the subsequent developments including the efforts of Etela to lay a road to his land.
The TRS official media – T News – had prominently carried the news on the land grab and the possible action to be taken by the chief minister against the minister.
Meanwhile, Etela is scheduled to come before the media tonight and make his statement on the issue, while the chief minister is said to be making up his mind to show the door to his junior colleague.
