Ever since Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha lost her election in Nizamabad parliamentary constituency, an uneasy calm is prevailing in the party.
For, Kavitha is not able to digest her defeat and she has no patience to wait for another five years to test her fortunes. Apparently, she does not want to remain political oblivion for a quite long time without any post or position.
So, KCR is said to be under pressure to accommodate her in his cabinet and restore her glory in the state politics.
One option is to make her an MLC either under MLA’s quota or Governor’s quota, so that she can get into the state cabinet.
But the TRS president wants her to win the electoral battle to prove that she has not lost the support of people.
For that, one of the TRS MLAs either in Nizamabad or Karimnagar or Jagitial should resign and pave way for her election in the by-elections.
On Wednesday, sitting Jagital MLA Sanjay Kumar offered to resign from his seat to enable the election of Kavitha in the by-electoins.
"If Kavitha wants to contest as an MLA, I am ready to sacrifice Jagtial seat for her," Sanjay said adding that the party high command will take a call on it.
Sanjay also said TRS workers in Huzurnagar also wanted Kavitha to contest from the constituency but she was not interested in it.
“Many other MLAs are ready to give up their seats for the sake of Kavitha,” he said.
However, it is also a risky proposition for Kavitha. Only in the recent MLC elections in the graduates’ constituency, former Jagitial MLA T Jeevan Reddy won with huge majority as educated people voted for him.
If Kavitha contests from Jagitial, there is every possibility that she might lose the election again.
So, the best way for her is to become an MLC and join the daddy’s cabinet!
