The Kadapa police on Friday filed a charge sheet against Dr Narreddy Sunitha, daughter of slain former Andhra Pradesh minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy and her husband N Rajasekhar Reddy, besides Central Bureau of Investigation superintendent of police Ram Singh.
The charge sheet was filed in a Pulivendula court, following a complaint filed by Vivekananda Reddy’s personal assistant M V Krishna Reddy with the police, who registered the FIR and submitted the same in the court.
On December 15, the Kadapa police booked a case of abetment against Sunitha, Rajasekhar and the CBI SP following the directions of the Pulivendula court, which asked the police to file the charge sheet and submit a final report before January 4.
Krishna Reddy alleged that Sunitha, Rajasekhar and Ram Singh had put pressure on him to give a statement accusing Devireddy Siva Sankar Reddy and other prominent political leaders.
The police registered the case against them under sections 352, 323, 330, 342, 348, 506, 195-A, 166 A(b), 109 IPC r/w 156(3) CrPC.
According to FIR, on November 30, 2021, the complainant was confined by the SP in the guest house of the central prison, Kadapa, with a demand to give false evidence.
The SP said he helped driver Dastagiri and watchman Ranganna to get out of jail since they acted as per his direction and asked the complainant to give false evidence so that he would let the complainant out of the case or otherwise send him to jail by cancelling his bail orders.
It is alleged that the officer offered inducement, threat, and promise to the complainant with a demand to give a false statement.
