Lok Satta Jayaprakash Narayan is known for his strait forward nature. He articulates his beliefs, preferences, and sentiments without any facade.
During a comprehensive interview with GreatAndhra, he discussed the state of the nation, politics, and reforms. Responding to a question in this interview, he highlighted three aspects he admires about Jagan:
Firstly, he commended Jagan for the direct accessibility of funds through his schemes. Jayaprakash Narayan noted that in the past, there was often a misuse of funds between government initiatives and the people they were intended to benefit. However, with the advent of technology, Jagan has successfully streamlined the process, ensuring that funds reach beneficiaries directly.
Secondly, Jayaprakash Narayan praised the effectiveness of Jagan's governance at the grassroots level, thanks to the establishment of village secretariats. This development has reduced the need for citizens to visit mandal centers, simplifying administrative procedures.
Thirdly, he lauded Jagan's introduction of a new pension scheme for government employees, describing it as a commendable initiative. He believed that this pension scheme could serve as a model for many other states in the country.
According to him, not addressing the pension issue this way, it could lead to a situation where, in two decades, the government's resources would be primarily allocated to pension payments.
However, Jayaprakash Narayan also expressed negatives about certain aspects of Jagan's administration. He disapproved of the practice of implicating political opponents in legal cases and incarcerating them.
In his view, politics should remain a matter of policy differences and should not devolve into personal vendettas, a trend he found concerning in Jagan's leadership.
