Veteran Kapu leader and former Lok Sabha member from Chegondi Harirama Jogaiah, who has been out of active politics for over a decade, is still desperate to stage a comeback to active politics.
The 84-year-old leader, who had once played a key role in West Godavari politics, is making every attempt to get into limelight by praising Jana Sena president and power star Pawan Kalyan.
A few months ago, Jogaiah floated Kapu Sena and is trying to consolidate the Kapu vote bank once again in support of Pawan Kalyan.
He has been periodically issuing statements in support of Jana Sena and attacking the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh.
On Friday, Jogaiah compared Jana Sena Party with “Janata Garage” in the film of the same name in which Mamootty with the help of NTR, takes up the cause of the poor people and fights against the criminals, land grabbers and corrupt leaders.
He said “Jana Sena Garage” is bound to teach a fitting lesson to the ruling YSR Congress party in the next elections and pull down the corrupt Jagan Mohan Reddy government from power.
Jogaiah, who was also a former home minister of combined Andhra Pradesh, came down heavily on the Jagan government for its alleged inept handling of the power supply situation in the state.
“Day in and day out, the government has been imposing severe power cuts in the villages, towns and cities for hours together, officially and unofficially. Never in the past did the people have faced such a miserable situation. It is purely because of inexperienced administration of the state government,” he said.
Reiterating Pawan’s words, Jogaiah described Jagan as the “adopted son” of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
“Though the government has been claiming that it has been implementing Navaratnalu schemes, they have not improved the living standards of even 10 per cent of the people. Instead, it has helped the ruling party leaders filling up their pockets,” he alleged.
It may be recalled that in September, too, Jogaiah made a hungama in the name of celebrating Pawan Kalyan’s birthday under Kapu Sena banner in Hyderabad.
He tried to rope in Tollywood personalities to the function, but the programme turned out to be a big flop as many of them stayed away because of the Kapu tag.
