Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Friday asserted that his party had weathered numerous challenges over the years and survived against all odds.
In doing so, he claimed, it also played a crucial role in ensuring the survival of the four-decade-old Telugu Desam Party.
Addressing the 12th Jana Sena Party Foundation Day rally at Chitrada near Pithapuram in Kakinada district, Pawan Kalyan said that despite electoral setbacks, the party never backed down.
“We stood our ground and upheld the party. We also supported the four-decade-old TDP, helping it return to power,” he stated.
He recalled how, after the Jana Sena’s defeat in the 2019 elections, YSRCP leaders mocked and insulted party workers.
“They harassed the people. When brave women raised their voices against this injustice, they were slapped with cases and imprisoned,” he said.
Speaking about the arrest of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan remarked, “Even a seasoned leader with forty years of experience was jailed. They conspired to silence me as well, declaring that I wouldn’t be allowed near the Assembly gates.”
“Yet today, we have entered the Assembly with 21 MLAs and the Parliament with two MPs. We achieved a 100% strike rate, making the entire nation take notice,” he added.
Jana Sena PAC chairman and State Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar highlighted the party’s resilience, stating that despite facing countless insults, Jana Sena always stood by the people.
“In 2019, when doubts loomed over Jana Sena’s future, we still assured support to construction workers,” he said.
“We remain steadfast, whether in opposition or in power. Pawan Kalyan’s leadership is not just for Andhra Pradesh but for the entire nation. He will rise as a national leader,” Manohar declared.
“In our struggle, 463 Janasainiks have lost their lives. Pawan Kalyan has always supported their families. Our journey will always align with the common man’s aspirations,” he added.
