Within hours of the Viskhapatnam police booking controversial film maker and Bigg Boss participant Nutan Kumar Naidu under various sections of IPC and also under SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act for allegedly getting a Dalit youth tonsured, the Jana Sena Party disowned him.
It is an open secret that Nutan Naidu is a hardcore fan of power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, as was evident from the recent satirical film he had made on Ram Gopal Varma in retaliation to the latter’s film on Pawan Kalyan.
There were also reports in the social media that Nutan Naidu is also an active Jana Sena Party worker. That is why, social media activists have started questioning the silence of Pawan Kalyan when Naidu was booked in the tonsuring of Dalit youth case.
While admitting that Nutan Naidu is a fan of Pawan Kalyan, Jana Sena Party general secretary Shiva Shankar said there was no truth in the report that the accused in the Dalit youth tonsuring case was a Jana Sena party worker.
“We strongly condemn dragging the name of Pawan Kalyan into the incident that took place between two individuals. The accused was not even a member of Jana Sena,” the party leader said.
Stating that Pawan Kalyan would not tolerate any atrocities perpetrated on Dalits and would never stand by injustice, the Jana Sena leader said it was unfortunate that the name of such a popular hero was being referred to in the ugly incident, just because the accused happened to be his fan.
Shiv Shankar said the Jana Sena was demanding that the accused be punished as per the law after due investigation. He warned of legal action against those who drag the name of Jana Sena Party or its president into the case.
