YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is known for taking surprising decisions; which sometimes shock his own party leaders.
In his party, nobody knows which leader will be given which position. Those who never handled the party activities seriously are suddenly appointed in big positions.
In the recent past, Jagan promoted certain people to the top positions that evoked a lot of surprise.
Take for instance, former chief minister N T Rama Rao’s wife Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi. She is a non-serious politician and was made the chairperson of Telugu and Sanskrit Academy during the Jagan regime. She hardly takes part in the party activities.
But recently, Jagan made her the party general secretary. Nobody knows what she is expected to do.
Similarly, appointed new in-charges for various constituencies as part of accelerating its reorganization process, but many of them are not very active at the grassroots level.
On Tuesday night, Jagan appointed his public relations officer Pudi Srihari has been named as the party’s general secretary, overseeing media affairs. Srihari has no political experience, except that he has been looking after the publicity activities of the party.
Having held various positions in Sakshi, Sriihari was the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) under Jagan’s government. Now, he will also grow into a full-fledged politician.
Additionally, KV Ramana Reddy from the Markapuram constituency in Prakasam district has been appointed as the State Secretary.
These appointments are part of YSR Congress’s broader strategy to rebuild its party structure and prepare for upcoming electoral challenges.
